It’s that time of the year again! Our R&D Boffins have been super busy the past few weeks getting hundreds of chains treated for Team INEOS Grenadiers and Bahrain McLaren ahead of Grand Tour season.
The story starts in 2015, when then Team Sky (now Team INEOS Grenadiers) athlete (and all-round British cycling legend) Bradley Wiggins set out to break the hour record and briefed us on developing the world's fastest chain; providing silky smooth and friction-free performance over extended periods of time.
This was a challenge that Dr Martin Mathias, AKA ‘Doctor M’, and Muc-Off MD Alex Trimnell, AKA ‘Mad Developer’, embraced fully. Thousands of hours of research and development later and they developed the ultimate solution to drivetrain optimisation.
When marginal gains are everything, our pro teams Team INEOS Grenadiers and Bahrain McLaren come to us for the full NTC treatment, so it’s no surprise that the pre-Grand Tour period is a busy one for us.
