Gold Award for Muc-Off Wet Lube - What Mountain Bike

What Mountain Bike: "Muc-Off now does a range of lubes. This thick viscous wet lube is drip applied directly to the chain and should sit a few minutes to penetrate the insides of the rollers. It goes on easily and stays more or less where you put it. Because it's a drip applicator, it'll last a while too. The excess should then be removed with a dry, lint-free rag until the chain is spotless and shiny. Your chain is now protected for about 50 miles of hard riding - less if you're in a complete deluge or submerging the drivetrain in water. Remove with degreaser when done and repeat the process until the sun comes out again in spring".

Guintoli ready for Crescent Suzuki debut
By admin on Nov 24, 2008 | In Racing | Send feedback »

Crescent Suzuki’s new British Superbike star Sylvain Guintoli will make his first official appearance for the team at the forthcoming International Motorcycle Show in Birmingham.
Guintoli will be introduced to the media at a press conference on Thursday 27th November at 10.30 on the Suzuki stand; this will also be followed by a short autograph session. Guintoli will then return to the Suzuki display area – which is situated in hall one – at 14.00 and 16.00hrs for two more autograph sessions and to meet and greet fans.
Suzuki’s latest recruit has already tested a 2008 BSB Suzuki GSX-R1000 recently and will shortly be travelling to Spain for his first test on a fully-fledged race-prepared GSX-R1000 K9, but before he jets off, the 26-year-old Frenchman will find time to return to the NEC to spend more time meeting fans. Guintoli will again be on the Suzuki stand on Saturday 29th November at 11.00, 14.00 and 16.00hrs for three further autograph sessions.
Guintoli will not be the only new attraction on the Suzuki stand as all the 2009 models will be on display including the latest incarnation of the Suzuki GSX-R1000 that he will be racing next year and will be available from Crescent Motorcycles in the near future.
Sylvain Guintoli:
“I can’t wait to go to the motorcycle show as it will be the first time I have had the chance to meet the British fans. I know how important the BSB Championship is and how knowledgeable the fans are, so it will be great to meet them and get to know as many as possible. I am really looking forward to racing full-time in the UK as the BSB is one of the biggest, and best, championships in the world and I hope that I can perform well for Suzuki and Crescent and put on a good show for all the people that will come to watch. I love living in Britain and really like the British people and that has made it so easy for me to make the decision to race in BSB next year, I now just hope that the public get to like me as much over the coming months!”

Rizla Suzuki: Thanks for your tremendous support!
By admin on Nov 14, 2008 | In Racing | Send feedback »
Rizla would like to thank all of its fans for the amazing support it has received during its time in British Superbikes.
Rizla will be leaving the British Superbike arena at the end of 2008 after seven successful years in the championship, which have seen 23 race wins, 58 podiums and one British Superbike Championship in 2004.
From 2002 to 2008 the Rizla Suzuki Superbike team also scored one Manufacturer’s Championship and took one World Superbike pole position and two podiums. Rizla would also like to say thanks and pay tribute to all the riders that have worn the now famous ‘Rizla Blue’ and given the team so many good times at racetracks all over the UK.
Rizla Suzuki made its final competitive appearance at the Race of the Year at Mallory Park on Sunday 19th October, when Tom Sykes made sure it was a triumphant farewell as he raced his Suzuki GSX-R1000 to victory.
Crescent, which operates the Rizla Suzuki British Superbike team, has already confirmed it will contest the Championship in 2009 with French MotoGP racer Sylvain Guintoli.

Things are shaping up for the 2009 season and we are working as hard as ever.We will have a few changes in the team, with the retirement of Kenneth Gundersen we had to have a re-think about the 2009 season. We will run 2 MX2 riders at GP level and this will be our title hope Zach Osborne and our young understudy Mel Pocock. With Mel taking Kenneth's GP slot we have taken on young Edward Allingham from Ireland who will concentrate on the European MX2 series and the British MX2 series.Zach is more than likely to race MX1 in the British series as with the hectic race scheduele it is easier for everyone. For the Womens World championships it looks likely we will run the 2 times women's World cup winner Katherine Prumm. We will also continue to give support to Megan Lewis, Lewis Tombs and Conner Hylands.
For 2009 we will change from Sinisalo and Polisport to UFO.We have enjoyed some fantastic coverage in our Sinisalo Gear and I wish them and Polisport all the best for the future, they are top companies. Unfortunately in this economical climate we have to do what is financial best for the team and I'm sure we will enjoy the success that we had when we were UFO in 1996,97,98 and 99.Our staff remain the same with Mikey entering his 11th year and Ben his 9th year. Zane will be in his 4th year and Nick will be in his 5th year and for me it will be my 20th year!!

Sykes goes out fighting

This weekend saw the thrilling climax of the Bennetts British Superbike Championships play out at Brands Hatch in Kent. The Muc-Off team were in attendance to offer support to sponsored riders Tom Sykes and Atsushi Watanabe of the RIZLA SUZUKI Team. Tom Sykes finished the 2008 Championship in fourth place after putting on a brave and battling performance during this epic final round
In the second race Tom was holding fifth place when with five laps remaining his Rizla Suzuki simply stopped. The Yorkshireman desperately tried to restart it but to no avail and he could only watch as third place in the championship cruelly slipped from his grasp to Honda’s Cal Crutchlow. Rizla Suzuki rider Atsushi Watanabe finished 14th.
In the first race in bright glorious sunshine, Tom slotted into sixth place at the first corner and held station until the chequered flag at the hilly 1.1986-mile Indy circuit, unable to overtake due to the fast tight nature of the track. Atsushi started 12th and fell back to 16th before two retirements promoted him to 14th and a points scoring finish – giving him equal 14th place in the Championship. 2008 British Superbike Champion Shane Byrne won both races on his Ducati.
While it is the end of the British Superbike Championship, Rizla Suzuki will be on track again at the annual Race of the Year at Mallory Park in Leicestershire next Sunday, October 19th. Tom will be the lone Rizla Suzuki racer and is hoping to bring the silverware back to the team for the third consecutive year.
